Prof. Sun is one of the leading medical oncologists in China. He is currently the Director of National GCP Center for Anticancer Agents Cancer Hospital/Institute, CAMS & PUMC in Beijing, and the President of the Steering Committee of the Chinese Society of Clinical oncology (CSCO) and the Vice President of the Asian Clinical Oncology Society(ACOS) and the Chinese Cancer Research Foundation (CCRF).Graduated from Yenching University with a B. Degree in 1951 and from Peking Union Medical College with a M.D. degree in 1956, hebecame engaged in the research oftraditional Chinese medicine from 1960 to 1961, and worked, between 1979 and 1980, as a visiting professor in M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, USA. Since 1959, he has been working in the Department of Medical Oncology in Cancer Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS), holding the post of professor & director of Department of Medical Oncology during 1986-1994. He was honored as the "Outstanding Physician" by CAMS and Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) in 1993, awarded as an "Advanced Worker" in the national health care system by the Ministry of Human Affairs in 1994, and elected an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1999. Since 1991, he has been enjoying the governmental special stipend. He has published more than 300 articles in domestic and international journals. We are also glad to proclaim to you that the Chinese Journal of Cancer Research (CJCR; Print ISSN: 1000-9604; Online ISSN: 1993-0631; www.thecjcr.org) has been indexed in PubMed and PubMed Central (PMC) since August, 2012. All papers published in and after Vol 24, No 1 (March 2012) can be searched in PubMed around the end of December, 2012. Readers should have noticed that the current issue of CJCR (https://www.thecjcr.org/issue/view/65) appears exceptionally large. The publication of more articles and pages compared with past issues was intentional and temporary, to eliminate a backlog of accepted manuscripts. From 2013 onwards, the frequency of CJCR will be modified from quarterly to bimonthly. Such a decision was made according to the increasing number of submitted papers and improving awareness of this journal among colleagues. Believably, the higher publication frequency can pose additional burdens on the editorial team and board members. But diehards are often hard to die – we will manage.
